Protect your financial information from the Tigger virus
StoneHill wants to inform you of a virus spreading through the internet that could hit your pocket book in more than one way. The Tigger.A trojan, which has been keeping a low profile is exploiting the Microsoft Windows MS08-66 vulnerability to quietly steal data from online financial brokerages and their customers.
An estimated quarter million victims have been infected. Instead of just creating a nuisance on your computer, the virus goes after your finances on sites like E-trade, ING Direct, ShareBuilder, Vanguard, Options Xpress, Scottrade, and Ameritrade. It records a user's key strokes to get vital information like usernames and passwords.
The good news is this virus can be prevented |
